Upon issuance of a permit one set of approved construction documents shall be returned to the applicant and shall be kept on the site of the permitted work at all times during which the permitted work is in progress. One set of approved construction documents of sufficient quality to be readable after they are reproduced from microfilm and/or electronic scanning, shall be retained by the building official until final approval of the permitted work or for the period required for retention of public records.
