Building service equipment lawfully in existence at the time of the adoption of the technical codes may have its use, maintenance or repair continued if such building service equipment is not within the scope of the safety standards for existing buildings (22.10), and the use, maintenance or repair is in accordance with the original design and no hazard to life, health or property has been created by such building service equipment.
