Title 8 LIQUOR AND GAMING LICENSES AND REGULATIONS*
Chapter 8.20 LIQUOR LICENSE REGULATIONS
8.20.020.110 Gift store.
“Gift store” means a retail store located in an H-1 or H-2
zoning district which sells souvenirs, magazines, candy and gifts primarily to
tourists. A gift store must maintain at least fifty-one percent of its retail
floor space dedicated to the sale of souvenirs, magazines, candy and gifts not
otherwise definable as groceries. A gift store shall not be granted a package
liquor license if the entry door is located within one thousand five hundred
feet of the entry door of any other package liquor licensee. Gift stores located
in resort hotels are not subject to this restriction.
As an exception to the
gift store restrictions above, a retail gift business whose primary business is
the etching or engraving of glassware and sale thereof may be issued a package
liquor license for the sale only of engraved or etched liquor, wine, and
champagne bottles. Such liquor supply and display shall be kept in a separate
area restricting the entry of minors. The wholesale value of the liquor
inventory shall not exceed ten thousand dollars. (Ord. L-232-05 § 24,
2005)
